To say that projects get more and more complex every year would be a serious understatement, wouldn\u2019t it?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Because it\u2019s no longer just our work in general that got complicated. Today, pretty much every project requires you to provide intricate instructions, define deliverables, and specify detailed requirements. All of which, unfortunately, takes time and effort (and that\u2019s something you don\u2019t really have anymore, do you?)<\/span><\/p>

So, we\u2019ve decided to tackle at least some of those issues with the latest iteration of CELUM Content, version 23.12, and here\u2019s more information about what\u2019s coming to the platform shortly\u2026<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

#1. Advanced Status Rules for Assets<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve experienced this challenge before\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

You create a project, provide all the required information, and set it in motion. Soon enough, first assets become available. Then more of them come, and more. And then, suddenly, you notice the project marked as complete, even though not all assets are there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or even worse, you or someone else from the team, realise that some assets are missing long after the project\u2019s marked as done. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The problem? It\u2019s almost impossible to tell whether you\u2019ve got all the assets you need. Certainly, your <\/span>content supply chain platform<\/span><\/a> can\u2019t tell that, and marks the project as complete purely because, well, there are assets in it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

So, this latest update to our <\/span>Product Content Management<\/span><\/a> capability helps you overcome that challenge once and for all. With this new feature, you can define advanced rules that will prevent a project from being marked as complete until all the rules have been met.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With the new release, a compound object is not considered complete until all required elements are present and valid. The asset validation rule can be set using a status metadata field - such as a drop-down or checkbox - and the expected value for 'valid\/approved'.<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Let me illustrate how advanced status rules work with an example. Let\u2019s say that you\u2019ve scheduled a photo shoot for a new product – a brand new T-shirt – and set up a project in CELUM Content. With this new feature, you can now specify advanced rules for the project.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Think of those as a list of expectations you have for what a complete photo shoot results would look like.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In our example, this could be an image of a product in front view, back view, with male model, and another one with a female model, and so on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Only when relevant images are tagged with these rules (i.e., front, back, etc.), the project\u2019s status can be changed to \u201c<\/span>completed<\/span><\/i>\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Another example.<\/span><\/i> Let\u2019s look at a different scenario. You\u2019re working on a product sheet. The design team has already uploaded the asset but it\u2019s still a draft. In this case, you don\u2019t want it marked as done and moved to production (or even worse, uploaded to your website,) because, well, it\u2019s not. It\u2019s still a work in progress that needs to be updated, reviewed, and signed off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In this case, you can set up the rule that the asset has to be approved first before it can trigger any integration or be uploaded anywhere else.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

#2. Automatic Placeholders for Missing Compound Object Elements <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

It\u2019s true – You already can add placeholder images to projects to keep the production running while other assets are still being created.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

But with this another update to our <\/span>Product Content Management<\/span><\/a> capability, we also make it easy to do this automatically for all required but missing elements in compound objects. This way, you can quickly emulate what a completed project should look like, and move the production forward, even though you don\u2019t have all the assets in the project.<\/span><\/p>

But as with many updates like this, there is far more to it so, let\u2019s take a look under the hood\u2026<\/span><\/p>

In our previous update, we\u2019ve introduced an option to add a rule (let\u2019s call it <\/span>‘asset present<\/span><\/i>\u2019) to define the \u201c<\/span>completeness<\/span><\/i>\u201d of a compound object. Such \u201c<\/span>completeness<\/span><\/i>\u201d would basically describe what elements are required for the compound object to be considered complete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Now, with this latest update, you can add another rule to a compound object. Not only can you define what objects need to be there but also, specify that they must have the \u201capproved\u201d status.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With placeholder assets, you can add a placeholder for any asset that\u2019s required in the project and specify all the required metadata, just as if it were the actual asset.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This placeholder then can be added to a workroom to govern the actual content production and approval. The final, approved image\/video\/document then can be sent back to CELUM Content and turns the “placeholder” into a complete asset.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Here\u2019s another challenge I\u2019m sure you face commonly. You work on projects, but the day is done. So, you leave your desk, go home, happy to pick in the morning exactly where you left off. It\u2019s just that the system has logged you out in the meantime, and now, you have to navigate to where you were before being able to do anything.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Well, not anymore. With this simple update, our Nova UI will remember more accurately where you were and will return you to that section of CELUM when you log back in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Speaking of logging back in, Nova UI now features a better login experience. We\u2019ve brought it in line with the design used throughout the CELUM platform. With this update, we\u2019ve tackled another pesky user interface element – Unnecessary information in asset detail view.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I\u2019m sure you know the problem. Our projects typically require a whole set of information fields and metadata. But not every project includes all of those. Up until now, the platform would display all fields, regardless of whether there is any information in them or not. But now, you can toggle empty fields, and display only those that contain data, decluttering the asset detail view in the process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Finally, a small but so much requested feature – The asset detail view will not display the version\u2019s original filename.
