THE CHALLENGE:
Cooperate effectively worldwide
The voestalpine Group is represented by 500 affiliates in 50 countries on five continents and employs around 48,500 people. This global reach proved to be a considerable challenge for the Group when it came to using and exchanging digital assets.
The increasing demand for image, audio and video material, caused by the group’s own growth and the generally growing importance of new media, produced an influx of new assets.
Due to the lack of a clear, worldwide system of organisation, the searching of useful materials was a tedious challenge. It was much more convenient to produce new photos as well as other assets than to search for already existing ones. Therefore, the voestalpine group decided to modernise their global IT processes and find a system that would satisfy the needs of the marketing and sales teams.

Voestalpine mediaworlds:
The international content hub
voestalpine’s goal was to find a user-friendly and powerful solution for all its employees. With the CELUM content supply chain platform, internally branded as “voestalpine mediaworlds”, the company found a tool that allows employees to easily share large documents and data such as videos and printable images in their global, cross-company collaboration.
In order to guarantee maximum security and usability, a comprehensive access system was established that releases the corresponding files only for the assigned employees.
The seamless integration into Microsoft SharePoint and OpenCMS enables fast and reliable update of assets on 200 different enterprise websites as well as download portals for 50+ external partners, making voestalpine mediaworlds the central hub for all digital assets. Furthermore, it is the central content hub for assets in social media platforms, central translation management system and the voestalpine Group’s central press portal.
