THE CHALLENGE:
Cooperate effectively worldwide
The voestalpine Group is represented by 500 affiliates in 50 countries on 5 continents and employs around 49,000 people. This global reach proved to be a considerable challenge for the Group when it came to using and exchanging digital assets. The increasing demand for high-quality images and video content, stemming from the Group’s own growth as well as the rising significance of new media, produced an influx of new assets.
Due to the lack of a single worldwide organization, searching for the right materials was a tedious task. Finding existing photos and understanding license models was often times more difficult than just buying or producing new ones. Therefore, the voestalpine Group needed to reassess its global processes concerning the storage and exchange of digital assets to minimize costs and enable their teams to work efficiently with its resources.

Voestalpine mediaworlds:
The international digital asset hub
With the goal of centralizing all digital assets, voestalpine Group turned to CELUM’s enterprise digital asset management solution. The media database internally branded as “voestalpine mediaworlds” has allowed all employees around the world to cooperate with one another more efficiently, especially concerning the exchange of documents and digital assets like images and videos.
voestalpine implemented specific user rights system to manage various access levels, which in turn increased user adoption while keeping the security of critical business files at highest levels. The native connection to the CMS system enables fast and reliable update of assets on 200 different enterprise websites, making voestalpine mediaworlds the central hub for all digital assets. Even when voestalpine massively grew as an entire organization, the content hub was easily able to scale and meet the rising demands such as increased data volumes and growing number of user groups.
