The simple, intuitive user interface and the open architecture of celum IMAGINE support the international know-how transfer in our corporate network.
After several years of in-house development of HOCHTIEF’s own multimedia-database “mmdb”, the proprietary system was replaced with the standard software celum IMAGINE in 2007. To support its sales, marketing and communications activities, HOCHTIEF needed a Digital Asset Management system with a state-of-the-art, expandable and centralized media database and comfortable search functionality.
HOCHTIEF was looking for a Digital Asset Management solution capable to manage more than 36,000 files (images, videos, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and PDFs). More than 18,000 internal user and some 40 external partners should have access to the multi-media database. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office were to be integrated. In addition, the solution should be available internationally, for use in Germany, Austria, UK, Ireland, Hungary, Russia, Greece, India and Australia.
Implementation of celum IMAGINE at HOCHTIEF AG started in February 2007 and took eight months. Through a user-friendly interface, all users have direct access to the Digital Asset Management system. They are informed automatically when new data is available in folders relevant to them. Data redundancy is avoided by the centralized media database, and each asset is available for multiple purposes, such as presentations, web downloads and pre-press. E-mails do not have to be sent with large attachments anymore, because the users can just forward links to the media files or folders.
Christopher D. J. Butterfield considers the switch to the established standard software celum IMAGINE, as “the best thing we could do. It has a huge impact on how we use, work on, share and provide images, documents, presentations as well as audio and video files. The simple, intuitive user interface and the open architecture of celum IMAGINE support the international know-how transfer in our corporate network”.
